Upper-intermediate classes
Dutch upper-intermediate group courses are offered at three levels:
Upper-Intermediate 1 (B2.1)
In the Upper-Intermediate 1 Course you will learn:
to describe someone’s character in detail
to talk about the person you look up to most in life
how to give people compliments on the way they look and their actions
to react adequately to a compliment
to give a presentation about a news article
to give a presentation on an important historical Dutch event
how to make small talk
to describe what happened in a short film
to strongly indicate that you disapprove of something
how to curse/swear in Dutch (and how to stay polite)
how to discuss and write a list of rules for a social situation or event
to write an application letter for volunteer work
to have a volunteer work interview
to write a personal letter expressing gratitude
Upper-Intermediate 2 (B2.2)
In the Upper-Intermediate 2 Course you will learn:
to explain the meaning of a tv commercial
to talk about feminism in the Netherlands and the country you grew up in
to give a description of your daily activity
to describe Dutch culture
to use old Dutch expressions
to follow a discussion on Dutch politics or societal issues
to have a discussion on a topic of a general nature
to remind someone of a promise
to understand texts in which the author has taken a certain stand
to understand and pass on detailed information
to have a discussion on what is the best way to integrate
to talk about a personal event that happened to you in the past in detail
to describe and discuss figures, graphs and statistics
to write a report on an internship, business trip or excursion
to write a letter of complaint
to solve a small problem over the phone
to write about hypothetical past, present or future situations
Upper-Intermediate 3 (B2.3)
In the Upper-Intermediate 3 Course you will learn:
to describe a tv commercial
to understand most content from a talk show
to argue why a certain commercial choice is the best and to present this
to describe small everyday objects
to describe inventions
to describe a famous person
to write a review of a book, movie, theatre show or exhibition
to write a short fictional story
to indicate you have heard something that you are not sure of
to argue why you think saving energy is important or not important
to retell what you have read in a text
to find the information you are looking for on a website
to give someone advise
to have a discussion on sustainability
to negotiate the price of a product
to write a text with instructions on how to put an object together
